The remastered film has also been featured at other prestigious events, including Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas (September 18-25, 2025). Production and Remaster Details

The 4K remaster is based on a new scan of the original 35mm film negative, ensuring high-definition clarity while preserving Mamoru Oshii’s visionary artistry. The original Angel’s Egg OVA debuted in Japan in 1985, directed by Mamoru Oshii at Studio DEEN.

Oshii and Yoshitaka Amano conceived the story, with Oshii writing the screenplay and directing, while Amano handled art direction. The production team also included Hiroshi Hasegawa, Masao Kobayashi, Mitsunori Miura, and Yutaka Wada, with Yoshihiro Kanno composing the atmospheric music that defines the OVA.

Legacy and Western Recognition

Before its recent festival screenings, Angel’s Egg had rarely been available in the West in its original form. In 1987, Carl Colpaert’s live-action/animated film In the Aftermath incorporated some of its footage.

In September 2023, the Japan Society in New York City hosted a screening of the anime, marking one of the first opportunities for Western audiences to experience the original film. The new 4K remaster now ensures that Oshii’s haunting, allegorical masterpiece reaches a global audience in stunning detail.

What Fans Can Expect

With the 4K remaster, Angel’s Egg will finally be seen in its intended visual and artistic glory. Festival-goers and anime enthusiasts can look forward to experiencing Oshii’s surreal, atmospheric storytelling, Amano’s distinctive art, and the haunting musical score as originally conceived. The 2025 screenings across Manchester, New York, Los Angeles, and Sitges solidify the anime’s enduring legacy and bring it to a new generation of viewers worldwide.

Rebecca Ma, popularly known as Becca Bloom, is a rising luxury lifestyle influencer, entrepreneur, and socialite who has rapidly gained prominence in 2025, especially on TikTok.

Born and raised in Atherton, California, one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the United States, she comes from a family deeply rooted in technology and business.

Her parents, Simon Yiming Ma and Heidi Chou, are successful Chinese tech entrepreneurs and real estate investors who founded Camelot Information Systems, a cloud computing software giant with thousands of employees.

Becca herself has carved out a distinct path as both an influencer and businesswoman, blending her deep financial acumen with a lavish social media presence.

Her journey to fame began with her TikTok channel, launched in January 2025, where she quickly attracted millions of followers by sharing her glamorous lifestyle, from exclusive fashion hauls to private jet trips and extravagant pet breakfasts served on fine silverware.

Alongside her influencer career, Becca is notable for her entrepreneurial ventures, including founding StudyPal, a peer-to-peer tutoring platform sold early on, and co-founding Hearth Wireless Chargers, a portable charging device company.

She graduated from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business with degrees in business, economics, and law. Despite her affluent background, Becca maintains a professional career in fintech while also captivating audiences with her luxurious, yet approachable, online persona.

Becca Bloom’s Background and Rise

Becca Bloom’s upbringing in Atherton, a hub of Silicon Valley wealth, undoubtedly influenced her life trajectory. Her parents, with their successful tech and real estate ventures, provided not only financial stability but also strong entrepreneurial role models.

Her father, Simon Yiming Ma, serves on the board of the Asia Society of Northern California, signaling their deep involvement in both business and philanthropy. Raised with exposure to elite education and extracurriculars—ballet, tennis, and Math Olympiad competitions—Becca’s early life was shaped by excellence and opportunity.

Her academic pathway continued in prestigious settings. Menlo School saw her active leadership in a robotics team and the launch of StudyPal, showcasing her early business instincts. Later, at USC, she pursued a rigorous education in business and law, while working in roles that bridged finance and technology.

Her ability to balance educational, entrepreneurial, and influencer pursuits speaks to her multifaceted talents.

While many influencers showcase wealth, Becca’s approach is often described as relatable, blending luxury with a calm and approachable aura. Her content includes not just shopping hauls flaunting high-end brands like Bulgari, Cartier, and Tiffany, but also educational finance insights, making her unique in the influencer space.

In 2025, she signed with United Talent Agency, reflecting her growing professional status. TIME magazine recognized her impact, naming her one of the 100 Best Creators of the year.

Net Worth

As of 2025, Becca Bloom’s estimated net worth is around $240,000. This figure primarily reflects her earnings from her entrepreneurial ventures, social media influencing, and early career roles in fintech rather than the vast wealth of her family.

Although her parents’ net worth is believed to be in the upper millions to possibly near the billion-dollar mark due to their tech and real estate investments, Becca’s personal financial achievements are distinct and earned through her work and online presence.

Her net worth includes income from brand partnerships, sponsorships, and revenue generated by her popular content on TikTok and Instagram. Additionally, her entrepreneurial background, including sales of her earlier startups and equity in Hearth Wireless Chargers, contributes to her financial portfolio.

Despite growing up in a family with significant wealth, Becca has emphasized that she is motivated to succeed independently and consistently works as a professional in finance.

The jewelry she wears daily, featuring valued pieces from luxury houses like Van Cleef & Arpels and Bulgari, has itself been appraised to be worth over $240,000, underscoring her lifestyle’s opulence. However, this adornment is more of a public expression of wealth than direct income.

Her signing with a top talent agency in the influencer market has further positioned her as a rising star with substantial earning potential.

While not yet at the billionaire or multimillionaire level her parents might be associated with, her net worth is expected to grow significantly as she advances in both her business and influencer careers.
