The upcoming SBS drama The Judge from Hell is generating buzz with its intriguing fantasy romance storyline and stellar cast.
Leading the show are Park Shin Hye and Kim Jae Young, who are set to bring dynamic characters to life. Park Shin Hye plays Kang Bit Na, a demon from hell who inhabits the body of a judge, while Kim Jae Young portrays Han Da On, a dedicated detective facing harsh realities.
The show’s writer, Jo Yi Soo, has expressed her excitement and satisfaction with the casting choices.
She expressed, “When I received the news about Park Shin Hye joining the cast, I was thrilled. I had to stay calm on the call, but I celebrated afterwards.”
Yi Soo praised Park Shin Hye’s willingness to take on a script from a rookie writer, stating that it motivated her to ensure the drama would meet high standards.

The Bear has made a strong impression at the Emmys, taking home its third award of the night. Liza Colón-Zayas won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in the FX show. This was the actress’s first time being nominated for this award.
Last year, she joined her co-stars to accept the trophy for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. In The Bear, Colón-Zayas plays Tina Marrero, a beloved line cook who is eager yet slightly hesitant to train under Carmy (Jeremy Allen White).
Before Colón-Zayas’s name was announced, her co-stars White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach had already won awards for Outstanding Actor and Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, respectively.
This marks the second consecutive year that both actors have won these awards. They surpassed other strong competitors, including The Morning Show and Shōgun.
Who Else Was Up for the Emmy This Year?
This year’s Emmy competition was intense, with many comedy legends in the running. Meryl Streep received a nomination for her role in the third season of Hulu’s popular series, Only Murders in the Building.
The show features Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, and Martin Short as neighbors who become amateur detectives when murders occur in their apartment building.
Streep played Loretta Durkin, an aspiring actress and love interest of Short’s character. Despite not winning this year, Streep, a three-time Emmy winner, is expected to handle the loss gracefully.

Carol Burnett also earned a nomination for her role in Apple TV+’s Palm Royale. This role marked Burnett’s return to a main role on television after years of guest appearances.
Set in 1969 Palm Beach, Florida, the series follows Maxine Dellacorte-Simmons (Kristen Wiig) and Burnett’s character, Norma D’ellacort, who had a significant plot twist at the end of the first season. Burnett, with seven Emmys already, is familiar with the awards stage.
Sheryl Lee Ralph was another nominee. She stars in ABC’s Abbott Elementary, playing Barbara Howard, a tough but caring kindergarten teacher.
Ralph had previously been nominated for the same award twice, winning in 2022. Her co-star Janelle James was also nominated for her role as the school’s principal, Ava Coleman, marking James’s third nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Lastly, Hannah Einbinder from Hacks was nominated for her performance on the Max series alongside Jean Smart. The show has received critical acclaim and multiple awards.
This year, Einbinder’s co-stars, Smart and Paul W. Downs, also received Emmy nominations, following their success at the TCA Awards in July.
