BLACKPINK’s Lisa has faced criticism for her recent performance at the Global Citizen Festival. The charity event, held in Central Park, New York, on September 29th, featured top artists like Post Malone and Doja Cat.
Lisa, one of the headliners, delivered her first solo festival stage. Her setlist included popular tracks like ROCKSTAR , NEW WOMAN , Lalisa , and Money . Fans were excited as she also debuted her unreleased digital single Moonlit Floor , scheduled for release on October 4th.
The new song, Moonlit Floor , features a sample from Sixpence None the Richer’s Kiss Me . While the visuals and production were impressive, her vocal performance left much to be desired. Lisa relied heavily on pre-recorded tracks, which led to disappointment.

Some K-pop fans pointed out that her lip movements didn’t sync with the lyrics. Others remarked that her performance seemed half-hearted and lacked the spark they expected from a global star.
Earlier in September, Lisa made headlines for winning the Best K-pop award at the MTV Video Music Awards for ROCKSTAR . She became the first K-pop solo artist to achieve this milestone, adding to her growing list of accomplishments.
The criticism she faced also highlights the challenges of transitioning from group performances to solo acts. Lisa’s previous performances with BLACKPINK often featured dynamic choreography and interactions with her group members.
This shift to a solo stage may require her to adapt her style to maintain audience engagement and meet their expectations.
In addition to her music career, Lisa is also expanding into acting. She has been cast in the third season of HBO’s original series The White Lotus , marking her official acting debut.

Oh!GG, which consists of Sunny, Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, YoonA, and Yuri, debuted in 2018 with their single album “Lil’ Touch.”
The last release from this sub-unit was the special track “Melody,” part of the 2021 SMTOWN Winter: SMCU Express.
However, Yuri mentioned that continuing with Oh!GG would be complicated due to Sunny’s departure from SM Entertainment.

Girls’ Generation’s comeback is scheduled for the 2027 celebration.
During the conversation, Yuri also expressed regret that a full choreography video for “Lil’ Touch” was never filmed.
Despite the challenges, Yuri reassured fans that they would see the group together again. “We will be coming back on our 20th anniversary! We can just meet then!” she declared. This exciting news is set to unfold in 2027, but fans were hopeful for a new release sooner.
In response to the fan’s request for a new release this year and the following years, Yuri offered an optimistic perspective.
She noted, “Time really passes by in the blink of an eye, right? Next year is the 18th, the following year is the 19th, and it will be our 20th.” This hopeful sentiment adds to the anticipation surrounding their eventual comeback.
In the meantime, fans can enjoy the individual activities of the SNSD members. Each member has been pursuing their passions, with projects as singers, actresses, and entertainers. This keeps the spirit of the Girls’ Generation alive while they prepare for their future as a group.
