A Look Back at DEUX’s Legacy
DEUX, who debuted in 1993, was a highly influential group known for their trend-setting music, unparalleled dance skills, and fashion sense.
They are credited with being among the first to introduce authentic hip-hop into the mainstream Korean music scene.
- Hit Songs: Their famous tracks include “Look Back at Me” (also known as “Turn Around and Look at Me”) and “In the Summer.”
- Disbandment and Tragedy: The duo disbanded in 1995, the same year that Kim Sung Jae tragically passed away at the age of 23, just one day after his solo debut stage. The circumstances of his death on November 20, 1995, remain one of the most prominent unsolved mysteries in K-pop history.
This new single, “Rise,” marks the end of a 28-year hiatus since their 1997 best-of album, ‘Love, Fear,’ and represents an emotional tribute to Kim Sung Jae, revitalizing his artistic legacy for both long-time fans and a new generation.
