After many episodes with little progress in the murder case of Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), Only Murders in the Building offers a thrilling and unique sixth episode.
This episode adds more layers to the main mystery of Season 4. After episode 5 ended with gunshots at the photoshoot, we return to a scene of chaos.
This time, the situation is real, unlike the cliffhanger with Bev Melon (Molly Shannon) in episode 4. With a new filming style, new clues, and a twist that surprises everyone, “Blow Up” marks a strong return for Only Murders in the Building.
Who Was Shot in ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 4?
At the end of Episode 5, gunshots interrupt the photoshoot for the Only Murders movie. The credits roll before we find out who got hurt. Episode 6 begins right after that moment.
We see all three “Oliver”s on the ground: movie Oliver, played by Zach Galifianakis, stunt double Oliver, played by Paul Rudd, and the real Oliver, played by Martin Short. Two of the Olivers were shot. The bullet bounced off a metal plate on Glenn’s head and hit Zach.
Luckily, they all survive and are mostly okay, though they are very shaken up, and Glenn and Zach have to go to the hospital. This attack shows that Charles (Steve Martin) is not the only target anymore, and now Mabel (Selena Gomez) could also be in danger.
This life-threatening experience causes panic for Oliver. He thinks about Loretta (Meryl Streep) while he lies on the ground. He wonders why he is not spending every moment with her. After thinking about this throughout the episode, he decides to call her.
However, the conversation does not go as he wanted. He tells her he planned to propose in Los Angeles but was too scared to do it. Despite this, he wants to spend his life with her. Loretta only responds with a quiet “Hm.” She repeats this when he tells her she can take her time to respond.
She then hangs up quickly. Oliver feels very upset after this talk, but the situation feels strange, so it is likely something the show will address in future episodes.
It’s Only Documentaries in the Building in Season 4 Episode 6
One of the most interesting parts of this episode is that it uses a documentary style. The characters film everything themselves with handheld devices or hidden cameras. This is partly because the episode focuses on the Brothers sisters, Tawny (Siena Werber) and Trina (Catherine Cohen).

It is also because Howard (Michael Cyril Creighton) is the movie’s set documentarian. Mabel, Charles, and Oliver discover that the sisters made a strange student film in school and decide to watch it for clues.
The film is titled The Desecration of Alice. It tells the story of an elderly artist who creates identical twin sisters out of clay. The twins come to life and do the artist’s bidding. As they watch, they notice another familiar face: Vince (Richard Kind).
The trio immediately goes to Vince’s apartment, where Rudy (Kumail Nanjiani) is visiting. They decide to question him right away. Vince reveals that he and the Brothers sisters were students of Professor Dudenoff. That is how he joined their film. Dudenoff is a film professor. Vince says the Brothers sisters were his favorite students.
Both Vince and Rudy seem annoyed by this. They become even more upset when Charles mentions he heard Dudenoff is back in town.
He learned this from Detective Williams (Da’Vine Joy Randolph) earlier in the episode. They cannot believe it. They are visibly upset, saying Dudenoff would not come back without saying hello, and they have not heard from him.
There’s a Second Victim in ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 4 Episode 6
Earlier in the episode, Detective Williams visits Oliver’s apartment. She scolds them for Zach Galifianakis getting hurt because she told them to keep him safe since he is her celebrity crush. She then switches back to detective mode.
She tells the trio that Dudenoff is back in the city, making them worried that he could be the one who fired the shots at the photoshoot. She also gives Charles Sazz’s ashes, which he thanks her for seriously. Later, when Howard and his cadaver dog arrive, the dog goes for the ashes and knocks them over.
This moment is heartbreaking, but it also gives the trio a new lead they would not have found otherwise. As they clean up the ashes, they discover the replacement joints that Sazz had and find two left shoulders. Charles says this is impossible.
He believes they are just confused about anatomy since he can read Bulgarian, and it clearly says “Left Shoulder.” However, they find two left shoulder joints in Sazz’s ashes, suggesting that there was more than one body in the incinerator.
Mabel quickly texts the serial number of the new joint to Detective Williams, hoping she can find out who it belongs to. While they wait, they decide to confront the Brothers sisters. The sisters seem to have nothing to hide.
They answer all the questions easily, even admitting that they were in the Arconia the night Sazz died to visit Dudenoff.

They also say they would kill for him, so their words should be taken with caution. When Mabel finally receives a text back from Detective Williams about the joint’s identity, the Brothers sisters are cleared immediately because, shockingly, the replacement joint belonged to Dudenoff.
Someone’s Always Watching in ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 4 Episode 6
Throughout the episode, Charles focuses on a case the Brothers sisters have. He thinks it is a rifle case and wants proof. He tries to get Vince and Rudy to fly their drone into the sisters’ office to sneak a peek inside, but they have no luck. After hearing about their mentor’s death, they tell Charles he can open the case.
He pulls out a small camera, and the sisters admit they have hidden cameras in each of their apartments. This is why we have seen the feed every time someone stops filming on a handheld camera.
Mabel, Charles, and Oliver are not happy about this. They find out they signed a contract allowing this without reading it when they met to discuss the movie. They ask the sisters to remove all the cameras.
They all search the apartments, starting with Oliver’s. Just when they think they have found all the cameras, Charles discovers one more.
The sisters say it is not one of theirs, but before they can discuss it, Charles gets a text from “Sazz.” He looks at the text in shock and horror, then shows his phone to Howard, who is filming.

They see he received the live feed from the camera he is holding. This means the person who killed Sazz also put cameras in their apartments and has been watching them.
As if on cue, Mabel and Oliver receive videos of themselves doing ordinary things, with targets aimed at their heads. “Sazz” sends one last text to each of them that simply, but chillingly, says: “I’m watching you.”

What Happened in the Previous Episode of ‘Dancing With the Stars’?
Oscar night was glamorous. Celebrities like Chandler Kinney and Joey Graziadei danced with their partners to honor popular Hollywood films. The premiere did not eliminate anyone, but Week 2 had a tough double elimination.
The two contestants who left were Tori Spelling, known from Beverly Hills 90210, and Anna Delvey, who was a con artist and is now a fashionista. She was in the spotlight when it was announced that she would join the show this season.

She faced a lot of criticism online for her behavior on the show. Although she mentioned that the negative feedback was hard to handle, she left by saying she learned “nothing” during her short time on DWTS.
Despite the eliminations, all the competitors showed improvement in Season 33. Reginald VelJohnson and Eric Roberts had the lowest scores for the second week in a row. The Oscar-themed night allowed them to reflect on their careers and made the audience emotional.
VelJohnson dedicated his paso doble to his former co-star Bruce Willis, who he acted with in Die Hard, the movie that inspired his dance.
As in the premiere, the judges noticed that Kinney and Dwight Howard stood out in Week 2. Joey Graziadei and Stephen Nedoroscik, an Olympic medalist, tied for third place again.
