Bleach is one of the “happening anime,” and with its celebration anniversary of being one of the ‘big three of its era in Shonen Jump magazine’ we cannot rule out the love and admiration we have for Ichigo. Ichigo Kurosaki (protagonist) has joined the list of most popular characters by getting featured for the powers that quickly made him a force to be reckoned with in the spirit world. Ichigo has gone through some huge trouble to reach popularity and power in the end.
The anime series, which is based on Tite Kubo’s original manga named Bleach as well was aired from October 2004 to March 2012 on TV Tokyo, and we will be witnessing Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War: the final story arc of the manga in October 2022.
Bleach followed the plot of Ichigo as he became the strongest Soul Reaper and defended humans from evil spirits. Ichigo resides in Karakura Town when he becomes a Shinigami (Soul Reaper’s substitute). He is not alone with such powers in the town as he slowly gets to know about the powers possessed by his classmates like Ishida, Orihime Inoue, and Yasutora Sado.
Several story arcs are introduced during the series, including which shows us the fights between Ichigo and his friends v/s spiritual humans, immortals, The Hollow, and more.
When did Ichigo lose his powers?
Ichigo had a massive set of abilities. His speed levels, along with his power, were incredible, which also led to an increase in his combat abilities during fights. Ichigo’s source of power wasn’t singular, as his Zanpakuto could take on the Bankai form of Tensa Zangetsu.
Coming to the part of his Shinigami powers, he also has the powers of Hollow, which often allowed him to enter the Hollow form- this state made him even more powerful and uncontrollable, and his speed increased. Since his Hollow powers were uncontrollable, he was often afraid to use them since he feared that he might lose them if he could not learn to control them. Ichigo’s Quincy abilities also exist, which allow him to increase his defense and strength.
During the fourth arc, we see how Kagerōza Inaba creates modified soul copies of many members, and he then places them in Reigai bodies. Inaba sought to capture Nozomi Kujō to fuse with her and become an original being, Ōko Yushima. But, this is prevented as Nozomi sacrifices herself to defeat Inaba and Ichigo loses his power during this. Ichigo loses the use of his soul reaper powers during his intense battle with Sosuke Aizen.
This is primarily because Aizen had been the most powerful player in the Bleach world at that point in time and Ichigo had to make some sacrifices so as to continue the fight. Ichigo then trained in Dangai, where he learned his ultimate form, The Final Getsuga Tenshou, but the catch was that this form would lead to sacrificing his powers with no return of them. Dangai is a realm where time does not pass, so Ichigo could easily take on Aizen without wasting time but actually training for years.
After the battle with Aizen, Ichigo loses all his powers as he successfully defeats Aizen.
When does Ichigo Get His Powers Back?
Ichigo Kurosaki is one of the most powerful forces, but unfortunately, he lost his powers. His immense spiritual energy and shinigami abilities were surely missed, but luckily, he got them back in Episode 362. In the Fullbring arc, we see Ichigo struggling and trying to live his ordinary life now that he has lost his Shinigami abilities in the Battle of Karakura. After Aizen’s defeat, Ichigo meets ‘Fullbringers’ who claim to have developed awareness of their spirituality.
They could thus, manipulate the spirits that are present in all things by focusing on the spiritual energy of others rather than their own. Ichigo learns to manifest his Fullbring powers which actually take a different, weaker form of his soul reaper powers. Ichigo does slowly recover his spirit energy but what hits as a surprise is that the leader of the group of Fullbringers – Ginjo, had actually been meaning to steal Ichigo’s powers. During this point, Ichigo obtains his powers yet again by getting stabbed by Rukia’s sword (this sword carries the spirit energy of many of the Gotei 13 captains).
Ginjo becomes powerful while Ichigo comes back in possession of his Zangetsu, becoming even more powerful than before and getting his powers back for good.
This causes Ichigo to come back into possession of his Zangetsu and leaves him more powerful than ever before.
Ichigo Kurosaki is a seemingly ordinary high schooler, except for one crucial detail, he can see ghosts. One night, his life changes forever when a mysterious woman named Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper (shinigami), crashes into his room while hunting a monstrous spirit called a Hollow.
It has officially been 15 years since The OC ended its four-season long run. Although the series was canceled after four seasons owing to the low ratings, it is still close to heart for many of its fans. In fact, the series got positive reactions for the first season, after which the decline began. Fans found the storyline to be very touching and youthful, but some commentators criticized the casting. Although Fox started a campaign to save the series, the company went ahead and canceled it anyway. They wanted to be out of the show while it was still in a good place.

The OC Filming Locations
The show is set in Newport Beach, Orange County Region. However, it was majorly shot in the Manhattan Beach, Los Angeles County Region. Different sites in the Los Angeles County Region were also used as locations for different regions in the series. The external shots were extensively reused and shot in Los Angeles. The beach shots come from different beaches across America. However, the Cohen home is located in Malibu and was shot on location. Let’s take a look at these locations one by one.
Redondo Beach Pier – Redondo Beach, CA
As mentioned above, though, the supposedly Newport Beach you keep seeing is majorly Redondo Beach, which falls in Los Angeles County and not Orange County. This backdrop of a gorgeous seaside view with the pier has been used extensively in the series. The beach has also made an appearance on the television show Dexter.

Malibu, California, USA
The Malibu beach was another replacement beach for Newport Beach from the series. This location also used an exterior, and in fact, they have shot Cohen’s home. Ocean Breeze Drive in Malibu is the location for the driveway and house’s front. However, the pool house was built solely for the shooting of the pilot episode and was taken down after.

Tony’s Restaurant – Redondo Beach, CA
This particular restaurant has been used as an exterior in many scenes. This is particularly shown when Summer’s dad and Marissa’s mom have a discussion about dating. They have some of the show’s best sea views.
Mira Costa High School, 701 S. Peck Avenue, Manhattan Beach, California, USA
This school acted as the location for some shots of Newport High School.

Redondo Beach Coffee Shop – Redondo Beach, CA
In the show, there is the presence of a particular diner called “Pier Diner”, and the Redondo Beach Coffee Shop was used as the location for those scenes. This is also where Ryan punches Luke in the face. The location also acted as an exterior for the Diner.
Fisherman’s Village – Marina Del Rey, CA
This is the region in the show where The Summer Breeze is docked. This appears very few times in the whole series. But it is important because this setting is used for the scene where Seth sails away on an adventure.
Balboa Fun Zone – Newport Beach, CA
There is this particular scene in the series where Ryan and Marissa kiss for the first time on top of a Ferris Wheel. And while this particular location is not the exact Ferris Wheel where they kissed, it comes pretty close to it. And the best part is that it is open and running the whole year round.
The Lifeguard Tower – Playa Del Rey, CA
Although, just like beaches, most of the lifeguard towers are fake that were built on set or shot on different beaches, there is one iconic tower that is still standing. The S49 tower in Season 3, Marissa consoled and chatted with Ryan, is the one on Playa Del Rey in California.

Warner Grand Theatre, San Pedro, California
Remember that scene when Marissa found out that Luke slept with her mother, and her friends tried to cheer her up? They took her to a theatre to watch a film that ended up being a sad film. This resulted in all of them crying their eyes out. The location used for that scene is the Warner rand Theatre in San Pedo, California.
Raleigh Manhattan Beach Studios, California
When using externals got too expensive, the show moved to Raleigh Manhattan Beach Studios in California to create the interiors and shoot there. Especially for shooting Cohen’s home.
University of California & University of Southern California
The University of California was used to represent Berkeley in the show, and the University of Southern California was used to show Brown University.
Mount St. Mary’s College, Los Angeles
Mount St. Mary’s College was used as the location for Harbor High School. This is the school all the main characters attend. It was originally based on a school in Newport that one of the creators had attended.
