During the Apache wars, the man who served as chief of Scout was Al Sieber. Geronimo hated this man. He slaughtered a holy man and his companions. Charles B. Gatewood and he were destined for capturing the leader of the Apache group (Geronimo). The man who played the character of Al Sieber was Robert Selden Duvall.
George Crook was a Brigadier General. He admired Geronimo and was kind towards him. Therefore, Geronimo surrendered himself a second time to Crook. But escaped after taking half of the reservations.
